Spelman College is a highly selective, historically Black college that prepares women to change the world. - This campus is very well maintained and the residence halls are all being rehabbed one per year
- The year starts with a 10 day orientation program for first year students.
- Students get a career advisor first semester and the career center is extremely strong when it comes to internships, travel experiences or jobs upon graduation.

- Bonner Scholarship may be an option for young women who have shown a commitment to service (covers up to EFC for Tuition/Fees/Room and board)
- Bonner Scholars are chosen during the application process. No extra paperwork is needed.

Academic Support/Admissions Programs:

- Learning Resources Center: TheCenter provides academic support and learning enrichment opportunities to all Spelman students. Regularly scheduled workshops and laboratory instruction, as well as instruction in study techniques and learning strategies to help students achieve their full academic potential are offered. In most subjects, peer tutors are available by appointment or on a drop-in basis. Academic advisors are available to counsel students who want to explore various academic options or change majors.
- Office of Disability Services: The purpose of the ODS is to create an academic, social and physically accessible environment for students with disabilities by removing obstacles to learning. All students with documented disabilities are eligible for services.
